Creality Falcon Review: 2025’s Top 6 Questions by Users

When first encountering a laser engraver like the Creality Falcon or trying to understand the differences between its various models, it's common to have a lot of questions.

From what materials it can handle to which version is right for you, the details can be a bit overwhelming.

That's why we've compiled the six most frequently asked questions from users in 2025 to help clear things up and guide you to the right choice.

Q1: What Is Creality Falcon

Creality Falcon, also known as Creality Falcon Laser, is a sub-brand of Creality focused on diode-laser engravers, built for creators of all levels.

It offers beginner-friendly models (such as the Falcon CR and A1 series) as well as advanced laser cutters (such as the Falcon2 and Falcon2 Pro).

Q2: Can the Creality Falcon Cut Metal

No, none of the Creality Falcon products currently on the market can, but engraving is available.

The Creality Falcon Rotary Roller for Laser Engraving Machine, featuring adjustable width, is engraving a blue and black butterfly design onto a cylindrical metal tumbler, suitable for tumblers or bottles of various diameters.

Diode lasers cannot cut through metal—the beam is not powerful enough, and metal reflects much of the diode laser’s blue light (≈450 nm).

Since all Creality Falcon products are diode-laser based, they are not capable of cutting metal.

Q3: Can Creality Falcon Cut Leather

Yes. As mentioned above, all Creality Falcon products are diode-laser-based, and diode lasers (5W+ optical power) are capable of cutting natural leather, PU leather, and other soft hides.

But there is an optical power requirement for the machine when cutting leather.

Thin leather (≤2 mm): Easily cut with a 5W–10W diode laser.

Medium leather (2–4 mm): Requires more powerful modules (10W–20W optical), slower speeds, and often multiple passes.

Thick leather (>4–5 mm): Very challenging, even for high-power diode lasers (20W–30W optical). Cuts may be incomplete, with edges likely to burn or char.

Q4: What Can Falcon 2 Cut

Recently, there are 2 models of Falcon 2, they are: Falcon2 22W and Falcon2 40W. The 40W version can:

  • Engraving: Paper, wood, bamboo, leather, fabric, acrylic, painted/coated metal, plastic, etc.
  • Cutting: Paper, wood (20mm), bamboo, leather, fabric, non-transparent acrylic (clear acrylic cannot be cut)(30mm), plastic, etc.

Q5: Can Creality Falcon 2 Cut Acrylic

Yes, the Creality Falcon2 can cut acrylic, but it only supports non-transparent acrylic.

You can buy cutting available acrylic material from our store.

Four 12x12x1/8" frosted acrylic sheets by Creality Falcon Laser—orange, green, pink, and black—are stacked with top right corners visible; the black sheet shows a partially peeled brown protective film.

Q6: Should I Choose Creality Falcon as my First Laser

When choosing your first laser, you may not realize that the gases released during cutting can be harmful, or that accidents—such as the machine falling off the table—can occur.

That’s why an enclosed design, proper ventilation, and other safety features are so important in a first laser engraver for beginners. Products like Falcon A1 and A1 Pro are ideal options for beginners.
